We are now TB Testing!
As some of you may have heard Lydia is now a qualified ATT (TB tester). Big congratulations after all her hard work alongside being in the office and her veterinary technician coursework!
We are now also carrying out government funded TB testing, so if you would like us to do your whole herd test please follow the steps below:
1. Call Farmcare on 0800 6125289 and say you would like Marches FarmVets to do your whole herd tests.
2 . Farmcare will send you a form to fill out which you send back confirming you would like us to do your whole herd test.
3. We then confirm from Farmcare and will contact you once this process is completed.
TB Advisory Services
Emily and Richard have become BCVA Accredited TB Advisers and TB advisory service advisors.
TBAS is a government funded project allowing eligible farmers access to free, bespoke advice to help reduce the impacts of Bovine TB on their farm. TBAS will fund a visit by either Emily or Richard to your farm to assess your farm system, issues posed by bovine TB and complete a farm walk to identify areas of risk and recommend improvements. A bespoke report is then produced and a follow up visit is completed a few months later to assess if recommendations have been implemented to allow feedback to the project. This process is completely free to the farmer. We can also arrange badger sett surveys through this service if you are interested in learning about the badger activity on your farm.
CHECS, who set the rules for cattle health schemes, are now offering an entry level membership to all farmers which sets out basic biosecurity guidelines to help reduce a herd's risk of TB infection and the impact of any TB breakdown. An annual membership is required to be part of this scheme which allows and annual review of your biosecurity measures and risks. If you are interested in either or both schemes, please speak to Emily or Richard.

We are attending Burwarton Show this year on Thursday the 1st ofAugust. As a result our offices will both be closed. However, our vets will be available to attend urgent and emergency calls by calling either of the office numbers. We hope to see many of you at the show!
