Linda Morgan, BVM&S, MRCVS
VET / DIRECTOR - 07974382271
Linda qualified from the R(D)SVS Edinburgh in 1987 and started her veterinary life working in a mixed practice in Wiltshire. After a couple of years there she then had a spell working in Australia and New Zealand, ending up in a large dairy practice in North Island NZ. On returning to the UK Linda worked up in Yorkshire before settling in the South Shropshire / Herefordshire area.
Linda enjoys all aspects of veterinary work and particularly working with pasture based dairy herds, infectious disease investigations and generally discussing risk and preventative strategies to promote the good health of the stock out on our farms.
In her spare time she enjoys riding (taking her horse out eventing where time permits) skiing and family time.
Emily Postlethwaite, BVM&S, MRCVS, CertAVP, BCVA
VET / DIRECTOR - 07471601839
Emily hails from Scotland and graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2013, working in Shropshire and Herefordshire ever since. After a few years working in mixed practice, she developed a keen interest for beef and sheep health.
Since 2018 she has been working towards a Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice through the University of Liverpool, helping her to gain more knowledge about beef and sheep. Emily is a qualified BVD advisor and sheep lameness advisor and has also completed training courses for bull and ram fertility examinations. Emily is keen to encourage proactive flock and herd health and is looking at setting up health clubs to help local farmers perform benchmarking exercises to help compare and improve production.
Outside of work, Emily is a keen reader and cook and enjoys walking her Springer, Jura. She helps with her husband’s commercial beef herd and sheep flock and has a flock of pedigree Blue Texel sheep, so you might see her in the show ring or at local ram sales!
Richard Taylor, BVSc MRCVS, BCVA
VET / DIRECTOR - 07813782724
Richard graduated from Bristol in 2018. Based at his family farm in Elton, Richard has always been local to the area and joined Marches mixed practice for just over three years before starting Marches Farm vets alongside Linda and Emily.
Having grown up on a dairy farm until he was 18 as well as sheep and calf rearing, Richard has interests in all aspects of farm vetting. His particular interests being dairy fertility, lameness and trimming, post-mortems as well as running medicine courses for farmers.
Interests outside of work are helping out when possible on the family farm, playing cricket for Ludlow cricket club as well as the great outdoors.
Lydia Morgan, ATT
PRACTICE MANAGER / TRAINEE VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Lydia has been with us from the beginning and her job involves all aspects of admin in the office along with farm visits supporting the vets. As a fully qualifie RAMA SQP she enjoys all areas of the role, working with the team and the clients, both in the office and on farm.
She is currently undertaking a level 5 apprenticeship at Harper Adams University in Professional Practice of a Veterinary Technician and has also completed training to become an approved TB tester.
Lydia grew up in farming with both beef and sheep, and in recent years has begun calf rearing which she loves – her favourite part is the morning feeds and lambing. When not occupied by calves Lydia likes to take her horse out and walk the dogs.
Terise Davies
PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR / RECEPTIONIST
Terise, a fully qualified RAMA SQP, has been working with Marches Farm Vets since August 2022. She’s from a farming background of beef and sheep, and used to breed pedigree Suffolk’s. You may know her from working locally in the area around Leominster.
Terise splits her time between our two locations and can be found in Leominster Monday and Thursday and Ludlow Tuesday, Wednesday Friday.
She has a young family and delights in sharing her love of camping with them and always enjoys a walk with their Cocker Spaniel - whatever the weather.
Hannah Griffiths
PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR / RECEPTIONIST
Hannah works at our Leominster practice every Wednesday, you will recognise her from working locally to Leominster for the last 28 years. Hannah is from a farming background of beef and sheep near Kington, she loves the lambing season.
A keen gardener in her spare time, growing her own fruit and veg then making homemade produce with the aim of being as self-sufficient as possible. Hannah enjoys breaks away to Pembrokeshire with her partner.
Melany Dahn
PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR / RECEPTIONIST
Mel has just recently started with us to cover maternity leave, she is splitting her time between the Leominster and Ludlow practices. She will be working Mondays and Thursdays at Leominster then Tuesdays , Wednesdays and Fridays at Ludlow.
Mel studied agriculture at Home Lacey college for two years and also has a background of beef and sheep farming.
In her free time she enjoys socialising at young farmers going beating and working her dog Buster.
Harriet Beaumont
PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR / RECEPTIONIST
Harriet has recently joined us in the Leominster office on Wednesdays.
Having grown up on a farm when she was younger, animals have always been Harriet’s passion. She enjoyed helping out with the cattle and sheep on her family farm, especially around lambing time.
In her spare time you will usually find her out competing her horse or coaching at the local Pony Club. Harriet also enjoys her time on the rugby pitch, playing for Clee Hill Ladies through the winter or working her cocker spaniels out shooting.
Cathy Whapham
VOLUNTEER/SMALL HOLDER CLIENT
Cathy is acting as a helpful volunteer resource for our team in evolving business ideas and acting on customer feedback. Cathy returned to Herefordshire in 2019 and is a third generation smallholder. Alongside her "day job" as a Water Hygiene Consultant, Cathy runs a small flock of local native breed Ryeland and Coloured Ryeland sheep, a successful meat box scheme, and manages orchards for juice, jam, cider and perry making.
Marches Farm Vets have played an important part in the development and good husbandry of Cathy's Ashmead and Ironside flocks.
